Jeannine Merritt-Elzey's Fundraiser
Together, we can make an Impact
Join me in empowering our community!
We are no longer accepting donations on this campaign, but there are other ways for you to support us today!
Please join me in supporting an organization that is vital in protecting the rights and legal status of hardworking, underserved, members of our community. As policy and attitudes change towards our immigrant community members, your support is needed more than ever today.
I joined the Board of La Raza Centro Legal in 2015 and currently serve as Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee. I am inspired by its long standing victories and foundation in the Mission District of San Francisco. As a native San Franciscan, I have witnessed the tremendous changes and displacement of many families. La Raza Centro Legal has been providing NO COST legal services for over 43 years. Our founders were UC Hastings law students that were inspired by the Chicano and labor rights movement of the 70's. Today, their vision continues with expanded no cost legal services . However, we need your support to ensure these services reach our communities. We can only empower ourselves with our voice and legal stabilization in support of these services.
La Raza Centro Legal works to advance the economic and social well-being of over 1600 people each year across four programs:
- Immigration Law: We defend people from deportation, and help them attain documentation and citizenship.
- Workers' Rights: We help workers collect hundreds of thousands of dollars per year in wages and discrimination damages owed to them by employers.
- Housing Law: We defend families against eviction.
- Senior Law: We protect seniors from exploitation and ensure that they receive benefits.
La Raza Centro Legal is engaged in critical work for The Mission and beyond, but we need your assistance to help sustain it.
Your contribution will make an immediate impact, and will earn my deepest gratitude. It is also 100% tax-deductible.
Thank you for your solidarity and support.
With much gratitude,
-Jeannine
